Sponsor GOLDCREST for the Edinburgh Marathon 2007

As you may know, Goldcrest will be taking on an enormous challenge on the 27th May when our two teams run the Edinburgh Marathon. This is the second year that Goldcrest have run the marathon and we are hoping to beat last year's efforts both on and off the tarmac by having both teams complete the 26.2 miles in less than 3 hours 45 minutes.

We are doing this in order to raise funds for Research Autism, a cause in which we strongly believe. We are aiming to raise £7,500 for Research Autism’s work in commissioning, carrying out and supporting high quality, independent research into new and existing health, education, social and other interventions in the field of autism.

In order to prepare for the marathon, we will be putting ourselves through months of gruelling training including many miles of painful joint-bashing, blister-inducing running.

You can help us face this challenge by supporting this excellent cause.

So please sponsor us now! Many thanks for your support.

THE MARATHON RELAY…

The Edinburgh Marathon is now approaching its 4th year and again expecting a record number of entrants along with a record finishing time. The 26.2miles will be split between 4 runners. The 'Hairy Haggis' Team Relay was introduced to give athletes of all abilities the opportunity to run along the same course of the marathon without having to run the 26.2 miles individually.

THE ROUTE…

The new 2007 route has an overall elevation drop of 230ft. Henry Muchamore (EM Course Director, UK Athletics level 4 Coach and 2:35 marathon runner) believes the new route is the fastest marathon course in Britain.

Leg One - 7.2 Miles (The Royal Leg)
Leg Two  - 5.8 Miles (The Cock & Pan Leg)
Leg Three  - 8.0 Miles (The Gosford Leg)
Leg Four  - 5.2 Miles (The Glory Leg)
