Graduate Land Development Programme
The Goldcrest Graduate Land Development Programme is an intensive 2 year programme designed to prepare talented graduates for an exciting career in property development.
The programme is as rigorous and challenging as it is rewarding. Our unique programme will stretch you to the limit and will be wholly dedicated to developing and fine tuning your skills for a solid, fast-track career in property with a focus on land development.
We require graduates to be enthusiastic, committed, hungry for knowledge and 100% driven by ambition. In return, Graduate Land Developers will have unrivalled exposure to the property industry, an opportunity to work alongside the best and to fast track their career as quickly as they can demonstrate their ability.
The Graduate Land Development Programme starts in early October to coincide with the start of our financial year. All graduates are based at our Fulham office.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate a strong interest in property development as well as being up to date on current business and market-related issues. They should have good A Levels and an attained/ expected 2:1 or higher. Industry related experience is a distinct advantage.
As this is not a wholly desk based role a driving licence and own transport are necessary.
Graduates will assist with the acquisition of land to deliver profitable sites suitable for development of 10 – 500 residential units, often with significant commercial elements. Responsibilities include;
- Building relationships with agents, property consultants and land owners.
- Identifying sites which match the company’s acquisition criteria.
- Conducting on-site appraisals to evaluate various aspects of a site’s potential.
- Prior to acquisition, assisting in the due diligence process.
- Post acquisition, assisting with achieving outstanding planning consents.
On successful completion of the Goldcrest Land Development Programme graduates are promoted to Land Developer. In this role they work independently on smaller development opportunities with access to the wider development team. For their on-going progression and development they will assist the Acquisitions Manager and Managing Director on the more significant development opportunities.
There is a clear path for advancement with individual achievement recognised by increased financial rewards as well as promotion.
Not all graduates have the same development needs and this is the reason why each graduate has a dedicated Development Plan targeted to help them improve. Development actions are a blend of external training, on-the-job learning, coaching and mentoring.

This telephone interview is structured to provide us with an initial impression of your compatibility for the role as well as providing you with the opportunity to ask questions and find out more about us.
Candidates who most closely match our criteria will be invited to our London office for the second stage of the stage of the recruitment process. This face to face interview will be competency based to enable us to assess your capability and potential for a role as a land buyer.
This will involve a practical exercise, where you will be taken to a potential development site, a group activity and culminate in an individual presentation to the senior management team. We will be assessing your ability to think on your feet not simply your technical ability.
This stage will give you the opportunity to demonstrate how you meet our competencies, inform us of your career motivation and allow you to ask lots of questions and to find out more about us.
Hiring decisions are made very quickly after the final stage. Offers are conditional on successfully completing a one week paid internship. This is designed to ensure that you feel as comfortable with us as we do with you.
