The team are very proud and delighted to have two schemes shortlisted for this years awards. Our 4th consecutive year of being shortlisted!
Norbury Trading Estate – Our 73 unit residential led mixed-use development in the heart of Norbury SW16 made the shortlist this year. The design will transform the underutilised and outdated 1980’s Norbury Trading estate into a vibrant much needed addition to the neighbourhood. The scheme delivers new homes, high quality workspace and community uses, addressing the street with high quality public realm. A £100k contribution to the locally listed Norbury Hall Park will allow local people to decide on what improvements they would like to see implemented. Unanimously approved by the planning committee and commended by members and local ward councillors, the scheme delivers 30% on site tenure blind affordable homes for local people. The scheme design is a collaboration between Rolfe Judd Architects and Goldcrest Architects and can be viewed on the Housing design Awards website by clicking here.
Pantiles – Set deep in the Surrey Green Belt our scheme at Pantiles transforms a redundant brownfield former garden centre site into a sensitively designed extension to the village of Lyne. Sixty contemporary houses are set in a native inspired landscape of planted swales and wild play spaces. A mixture of house types and tenures provides variety across the large site, whilst a locally inspired palette of traditional materials provides coherence. The scheme delivers 50% tenure blind on site affordable homes and was applauded by Design South East during the planning process. The scheme received local support and was unanimously approved at committee with members noting ‘the scheme should be used as a benchmark for development in the Green Belt.’ The award winning offices of John Pardey Architects and Spacehub Landscape Design were brought on board by Goldcrest, working closely as a team to ensure a design of the highest quality was achieved.
