Goldcrest

Fortescue Road

Shortlisted for the national Housing Design Awards 2017.

Built to deliver 74 new homes of which 100% are affordable.

What We Found

A redundant contaminated water depot with extensive Japanese Knotweed and large underground utilities. Located minutes from Colliers Wood tube, the site had some very big challenges to overcome, however we could see the potential in this overlooked but sustainable location.

Our Aim

To re-imagine a forgotten place, create a new residential community accessible to the people of Colliers Wood. Set within an ecologically and architecturally exemplary development, framed by high quality public realm and landscaping. We imagined a place with generous high quality homes, safe spaces to play and learn in, with room to grow your own or simply chat with your neighbours.

The Result

Goldcrest Architects secured planning permission in February 2017 to transform the derelict site and bring forward 74 news homes in a variety of types and tenures to enable a mixed community to come forward. Providing for families, first time buyers, investors and local people.

The scheme achieved and outstanding Building for Life score , a BRE Home Quality Mark and was shortlisted in 2017 for a Housing Design Award.
